At the age of 40, men, specifically women tend to slow down their metabolism because of the toxins that they have incurred over their lifetime. These toxins were an add up of preserve foods and beverages and of course the polluted air that we take in over the years. In order to lose fat, we have to speed up our metabolism because one of the downside of doing intermittent fasting is that it slows down our metabolism. This is because the body tends to preserve the energy within the body because it is not receiving enough supply to create energy. Flushing out toxins within the body equates to having an increased in metabolic rate. This is also equivalent to burning the fats in our body at the fastest rate.

 

WHAT TO EAT DURING EATING WINDOWS?:

1. Eat Spicy Foods during your eating window.  Eating spicy foods can also suppress appetite. Peppers contain capsaicin, a substance that can boost your metabolism. However, many people can't tolerate these spices at the doses required to have a significant effect.

2. Eat Smart Carbs.   These carbs such as sweet potato, bananas, squash, oats, beetroot, quinoa, buckwheat, barley and popcorn (food suppressant), black beans, amaranth are packed with nutrients. They can speed up metabolism, burn fat and helps you lose weight

3. Follow a good quality diet and Increase protein intake.  This include unrefined, minimally processed foods such as vegetables and fruits, whole grains, healthy fats and healthy sources of protein. Take note how many ingredients are there with what you shop, If a product contains more than 5 ingredients, mostly it is not real food.

4. Fiber.  Eating foods with lots of fiber This is also considered to be a fat burning food.

5. Eat Bitter Melon (ampalaya). This vegetable kicks and supercharge your metabolism.

6. Cinnamon. Let say you gave in with the temptation of carbs within your diet, don’t fret and don’t be too hard on yourself because cinnamon comes to save the day. It literally helps your body stops from absorbing fat, sugar and calories.

3. Do not sleep within 2 hours after eating. Depending on your last meal, it usually takes 2 to 4 hours for the food to be digested. More fats would be stored if you don’t allow the food to be burned and digested properly before you sleep.

4. Drink Green/White Tea or Coffee Without Sugar. Drinking green or white tea and coffee have lots of benefits to your fat burning routine. White tea has almost no processing. So its naturally organic. It contains polyphenols that turns on your fat burning process. It also naturally suppresses appetite. Green tea help convert some of the fat stored in your body into free fatty acids, which may increase fat burning by 10–17%. Coffee on the other hand increase metabolic rate for about 3-11%. However its effect would decrease overtime because your body will adapt and decrease the amount of calories to burn.

5. Get enough sleep.   Lack of sleep usually leads to obesity because it slows down metabolism.
